Jafi Marvel deals with cutting-edge electronica melodies and sounds of techno and 80's dark pop, all accompanied by rough guitars and catchy songs.
Jafi, a native inhabitant of Saragossa with a long musical path behind, debuts his first solo album "Jafi Marvel". Known initially to belong to bands like "Niños del Brasil" or "Los Nervios" and collaborating with artists as diverse as Morti (Skizoo) or Federico Aubele, this album is the completion of a personal project started in 2005. Throughout these years and thanks to the increasingly close collaboration of guitarist Luis Javier Velilla (Alice, D'Estrellitas Power, etc.), the project became a duo and a trio later on stage with the addition of the keyboardist Vicho (Ziclope and Los Dioses de la Prostitucion) as a reinforcement.
Recorded in Berlin under Juan Tormento and Juan Luis Miguelez's production (Glamour to Kill, McNamara, Glitter Klinik, Dinarama, etc.), this album comprises of 13 tracks with a strong style and diverse influences: from the synthpop of the early 80's to the most modern electro clash, with some touch of distorted guitars typical of punk-rock from 90's. Influences from bands like Depeche Mode, Fischerspooner or Green Day can be recognized in their songs.
Their bold and innovative staging has been performed in various regions of the Spanish and foreign geography. Various festivals (Conecta, Anciles Directo, etc.) have taken benefit of their attendance, which led them to be eligible in 2008 as one of four finalists for the contest "Rock in Rio Electronico" with more than 24,000 popular votes. In the final competition, the jury's vote gave them second place at just 1 point of the first classified.
Songs such as "Septiembre" (a duet with Juan Tormento) or "Me da igual" are intended to be repeated over and over into the listener's mind after just one play. Even themes like "Una oracion a Elvis" or "El Diablo" endowed with a fascinating electronic sound just to captivate the imagination.
